Hello we wanted to give a quick update, we are still waiting to be matched with the right child. We have inquiries out on several children around the country. We are trying to remain positive and patient. Which isn't always easy.

Our home study has finally been sent to the state for approval. Our case workers thinks we will here something by the end of the month. We are very excited that this process moving so quickly. We are at the point now where we can start looking a children to adopt. We still have faith that we will find the perfect child.
We really still cannot thank everyone enough for their unwavering support of us. We are so blessed to have the support of our friends and family.
What we do now is just wait. We have several websites to check to see about children that are available for adoption. We are also trying to network with local agency's.
Also our second yard sale did very well!

Sorry it has been so long since an update. We finally had our yard sale! We did really well and want to thank everyone for giving us items and supporting us. We are going to have another one on 10/24, we hope we have another great day.
We have everything required for our home study turned in. Now we are just waiting on the final report to be written and approved. We are not really sure how long it will take. Once it is approved we can start getting matched with children.
We are still hopeful to find the perfect child. We just hope we don't have to wait to long. However, we know that it will be worth whatever we have to go through in the end.

We had our home visit on the 14th. We are lucky to have a really great case worker. It went so smoothly. Now we have to set up individual interviews and turn in more paperwork. Our adoption specialist will then finish writing our home study and after the final version is ready it gets sent to the State. At that point the State will ask for any additional information that they need and then they will approve it. Once the State has it we are told it could take up to 30 days for it to be finalized. We will hopefully complete our separate interviews in the next couple of weeks and get everything finished up.
The only potentially negative news is that for the age of a child we are looking for it may be a long wait. We have been told this a few times so we are trying to prepare ourselves for the wait.

The adoption agency is coming August 14th for the 1st home visit. We are running around like crazy getting everything perfect. A huge thank you to Rebecca who single handedly organized our garage! Also to Jenny for making the inside of our house beautiful.

Friends and Family we are still waiting to hear from the adoption agency our paperwork has been dropped off and our we have done our background check, fingerprints etc. We are still planning our yard sale but we haven't picked a date yet. Hopefully we will be able it hold it very soon. As always thank you for your continued support.

We postponed the yard sale to a later date. We will let everyone know as soon as we have a new date. Hopefully it will be in July. We are still working on our application. We have given ourselves the deadline of turning it in this Friday. For everyone who provided us with reference we want to say thank you so much. All of your support really helps us and means a lot.

We are almost ready for a yard sale this weekend. Once again, we want to say thank you to everyone for donating so many items. I think it will be a great success. We are still working on our application, hopefully we will get it completed this week. We spent some time this weekend working on our house and planning out how we will rearrange things to make room for when our child arrives. We are having fun redecorating.

OK, so we made it through IMPACT training! What we thought might be long and boring training was actually very good and interesting. Thanks to a great instructor Cat Henry who kept everything exciting and made us laugh. Jeff and I looked forward to going to class each day. We also had a class full of wonderful people, who just like us want to help children in need. The next step we have to do is fill out about a million pages and get those turned back in to Georgia Mentor. We will be working on that for the next week or so hopefully we can get it done and get it turned in swiftly.

Hello Again!
We just wanted to give and update on what has been going on. We have been researching all the different adoption methods available and we are thinking about trying to go another route along with trying to adopt through the state. Several people I can talked to online used and adoption attorney and the fees were much less than going through an adoption agency. We are going to consult with a few different attorneys and see how that process would unfold. However, we will continue to pursue adopting a child through the state and see where that takes us. Our only concern is the wait time and the fact that getting a younger child would be very hard. We still have faith that this adoption process will work out, no matter which route we take or how long we have to wait.
Over the weekend we got out information packet for the class we get to take next weekend. We are ready to get the class over with because then we can start the paperwork process.
We want to thank all of you for your support and prayers. It really helps to have so many family and friends behind us. We were not sure what the reaction would be when we told people we wanted to adopt but the news was received so well. We are truly blessed to have everyone in our lives.
Don't forget we are gearing up for our big yard sale on June 13th and 14th! Thank you to everyone who has already donated items us.

Hello everyone!
We have completed the first step in our adoption process and we are now
ready to move forward. We attended the
orientation last night and found out a lot of information. We are now ready to move forward and go wherever
this takes us. Our next step is to get
through the 20 hours of training that is required.
After the training we will start the home study process. There is a lot that will have to be done so
this step. They will need to speak with
some of our friends and family as well as doing extensive home visits and
background checks. I am not sure how
they go about choosing who they will speak to but I hope we can count on
everyone’s help. We should know more
about the process after the training classes.
Another project that we are working on is holding a large yard sale on June
13 and 14. All
of the money we raise will go towards the costs of adoption and preparing our
house for the home study. We would love
for you to look around your house and donate any unwanted items you may have
laying around. Also, if anyone wants to
come out and help us with the sale that would be great as well.
